This was, by far, the most dreadful winter in my lifetime. There is a rumor here that Spring is sometime this week, I refuse to believe it until the temp in my car says something higher than 27 every morning. The best place to be during the dreary, cold days of winter is certainly the library. I'm so glad I work in one. If it wasn't for my job (and my new doggie... more on that later), I would have certainly gone bonkers this winter. Nothing is more cheerful on a cold winters day than a herd of little toddlers buddled up like tight little balloons, all rosy cheeked and egar to listen and sing and celebrate library time. That along with some great books really warmed my heart this winter. Last week I decided it was time our children's room had some SPRING in it, so I took it upon myself to create a window that was always bright and sunny. You'll see it in the photo above. This is our newest bulletin board. The flowers grow everytime a child puts his name on one and "plants" it in the pot. Leave it to winter to get the creative juices flowing for springtime.
Another great reason I'm wishing for spring is to take our new doggy Skylar out for some extra long walks in the sun. Skylar is a black lab mix that my family and I rescued from a shelter right before Christmas. It was a somewhat impulsive move on my part, never having a dog, but she's been a true delight and another reason to smile during the worst winter in history. Don't you agree???
