I always end our story time for tots with a little dancing: Freeze Dance, the Hokey Pokey, or a bit of everything. It is always GREAT fun and the kids love it. This summer I thought it would be fun to do one class with JUST the dancing part. No stories, no fingerplays, just a dance party. I invested in a bubble machine and some very funny Hawaiian themed party supplies such as beach balls, sunglasses and lei's, and put together our favorite (and a few new) dance songs on a playlist. With over 60 kids and parents in attendance, the program was a huge success! We twisted, surfed, hopped and hokey-pokied until we couldn't move another muscle! What a great way to end our summer reading! :-)
